The Older Peoples Advisory Service is based in the Weybridge Centre for the Community in Churchfield Place, Weybridge, KT13 8BZ. It is the specialist service for older residents of Weybridge, run by Laura who is available to see clients, on a drop in basis and by appointment, every Monday and Friday morning between 9:30am and 12:00pm. Laura is supported by volunteer Doreen every Monday.
The Older People’s Welfare Advisory Service can also arrange home visits for Weybridge residents, to take advice and help to where it is needed most by some of the town’s more vulnerable residents.
Clients are given help with filling in forms to apply for benefits like Attendance Allowance and Pension Credit; applying for Blue Badges; assistance with negotiating care packages; advice on how to make wills and arrange Power of Attorney and a whole host of other issues. Whilst people may often be quite capable, sometimes barriers such as access to computers and language issues can prevent or hamper people from dealing with the problems they face.
To contact Laura, call: 01932 840919 on Monday and Friday mornings, or contact Citizens Advice Elmbridge (West) on: 01932 248660.
