One of our key fundraising focuses for 2020 is to build the funds to enhance our current service and launch a new Young Citizens Advice service, to better serve the 14-24 age group in our community.
For the first time we are exploring the opportunity of crowdfunding to help us get the project off the ground. Aviva has recently launched new Community Fund crowdfunding initiative for small charities and good causes, in which they invite their employees to split £250,000 (£15 each) to the projects that matter to them the most. To kick start the campaign the crowdfunding pages first go live to the public. This helps the projects to gather momentum and support from the communities where the projects are taking place.
We are really pleased to have had a project accepted into the scheme, the Young Citizens Advice project is now LIVE to raise public donations.
From the 10th March to the 15th April, the scheme will open for Aviva employees to vote on.
Currently less then 5% of our client base is under 25 years old, yet this age group accounts for just under 30% of the communities population. (2011 census) We need to support our young people to give them the best start in life.
